I think me and my Partner did a very good
with our pre-production planning for our short film, and the video its self was
filmed and edited professionally, there were some things that could have been
improved. The script was good it was very detailed and specific as to what was
going to be said in the film and when it will be said, the storyboard again was
very strong and clear, the only thing that was missing was the types of shots
we would use for a particular scene. The
location we had at first, was very well receeād for any hazards or threats that
can endanger out film and the cast members, but we used our back up location,
which was ideal for the film as well as the hotel we first had to do the film.
When it actually came down to shooting the
film, there was a bit of tension because 2 of our team members were removed
from our group, so it made things more difficult with just my partner and I,
but at the end of the day we were able to pull it off. We did a prop check
first to make sure that we had the camera and it was charged and working, and
also checked on the props we had, to be fair the props could have been
improved, like the smallest thing of just getting a mask for our character
could have made the film 10 times better. Our Actors had been over script and
knew their lines with so much accuracy, which enabled the day to go smoothly
without wasting anytime on the script. The call sheet was rather effective
because the Actors knew what time to meet and where they had to meet in order
for the shoot to be able to proceed. We also used a LED light, but near the end
of the shoot it died and we panicked a little bit, but we use an alternative
source for light. We thought to use natural light, but if we used that it would
have not made our film effective or convincing that it was a Horror. Also
because 2 of our members where removed from the group, my partner and I were
assigned things to do, which we was giving a short period of time to complete
it, but we managed to get all the documents, script and storyboard handed in
just in time.
The shots which we used were very good in
my opinion, but we could have improved and added more close ups, because that
is a significant shot, which gives us lots of effects and can create mystery
and give off facial expressions. The reason why we used close ups is because it
makes tension and the audience have to work out what is going on in the scene.
Because there was a close of on the girl with the iPhone, by the camera
focusing on her face you can tell that something was wrong. Overall I think
that the way my partner and me tackled the challenges we faced was very
effective and we was able to pull it off and produce a good short film with
just the two of us.
