P1 You have contributed towards the production of a practical portfolio of examples of some editing techniques that have been annotated to describe and explain these techniques and how conventions of continuity and discontinuity developed from early filmmakers. There is some discussion of their purpose in contemporary examples. (Merit/Pass)
Your timeline has describes developments in film editing referring to examples of films and filmmakers across the Early and Modern periods and at times their purpose. There is some discussion of how one stage led on to the other within the development of the principles of special effects, continuity, soviet montage, new wave discontinuity, and reference to the use of techniques by contemporary auteurs in independent cinema. There is little application to the examples. (Pass/Merit)
Your video guide Video Section 1 is edited but contains no information. Conclusion lacks contemporary examples stops with Hitchcock. Compares continuity and montage principals.

The prep was completed to a realistic timescale under controlled conditions and the student worked in a manner approaching professional standards.
P3 M3 D3 M The thriller narrative sequence has been edited to produce a preliminary rough cut, then a 5 minute short film.A lack of sound mixing but some foley of the footsteps, birds, breathing, buzzers, groans. 1 Jump cut present at start and some sense of narrative. Continuity is proficiently maintained later. Pacing issues make this a partially effective thriller lacking creativity and flair for the D. The edit was completed to a realistic timescale under controlled conditions you worked in a manner approaching professional standards.
