Types of Briefs

An contractual brief is the point at which an agreement exists between a customer and a worker; a company is normally utilized by the customer and will talk about the agreement with the customer before consenting to the terms.

The competition brief is a report that incorporates all instructions to contenders for taking an interest in a competition

A formal brief is where a company or business  is given a brief by the customer that points of interest the they need delivered, the substance of the brief is agreed between the two parties previously and elements just what is needed within the production and nothing further.

A Informal brief It is where the customer and the organization which they have utilized essentially look at what is needed, so requirements for the product which they want to make then eventually come to an agreement. It's also easy to setup a nice environment for the client and the company.

A Co-Operative brief. Inside this sort of brief there are typically at least two companies that are contracted by the customer to work to the concise they have composed for a specific project they  are needing to be finished. After both companies have gotten the brief they can then continue to cooperate to create the project. In the event that there is a contradiction or struggle in thoughts there can be an arranged brief keeping in mind the end goal to determine these issues

Negotiated brief this sort of brief will be raised if the co-op brief given to the two of more production companies that are contending the project have any issues between them selves about the brief or anything they might want to clear up with the customer. Through the arrangements the brief can then be changed so as to suite each gathering participating in the creation. This could be anything from changing the presence of the product to changing the products content and also keeping it to the rules set in the brief.

Tender brief this is where a customer will promote their brief and a production company will unite a suggestion that they will pitch to the customer, there could be numerous pitches to the customer from a wide range of companies, so the customer will then find the opportunity to pick the recommendation that they think best suits their brief and offer the employment to that production company.

Commissions brief this brief is the place an expansive media organization will utilize a independent  media organization to make and deliver the product for them, and after the product has been made the bigger organization may go ahead to be utilize the product for an outer customer who will pay the independent  media organization for making the item and they could even get a cut of the eminences as well. The brief is not consulted between the organization and the customer, however is consulted between the two media organizations.
Disadvantages

3C

If we look at the Theme for BBC1 and Sky 1 we can see that they both have the ideology of unity. We already know that BBC1 are trying to portray themselves as united and multicultural furthermore we know that they report from all around the world hence why the incorporated the Theme of a circle which represents the earth. With sky1 we can see something similar here, it might not include the same elements that BBC1 have but we can definitely see some kind of trend. The 1 is the main focus mostly through out the ident which reinforces the idea of wholeness, could suggest that every race no matter what skin colour you are at the end of the day we call come together as 1. Fact that we can see cracks on the floor and different colours could suggest different countries around the world, but the fact that the 1 is in the middle tells us that Sky1 want everyone to come together, very similar with the Theme of the circles for BBC1. In my opinion I believe Sky1 and BBC1 are trying to send the same signal but in their own creative way.

Task 3B

The Theme of the suite is Circles. This is because when we look at all 4 of the idents we can see that they all have a circle in common, this tells us that BBC are trying to portray themselves as united and multicultural. As we know already the BBC report from all around the world, hence why they focus or incorporate the idea of a circle as it represents the Earth. If we look at the first Ident we can see that dogs are being used to represent the earth, and as we all know there is always a leader in each country and we can see the one dog who is in the middle keeping things under control, this relates to presidents and etc. But then again it also links to nature and it shows what dogs can achieve when they work together as a team, as they were able to stand one on top of each other. Let’s take the look at the third one which is the Hippo ident we can see something similar has been incorporated into the ident, we can see they used animals again, which also links to nature. The animals are working their way up, this could link to the audience as, and people in life would need to get to the top in order to accomplish their goals and dreams. The general idea behind the idents is unity, because we can see that each of the idents make reference to things that happen in reality. These idents give off a relaxed tone, as the idents are easy to watch.

I believe all the idents are Entertainment-led but they have aspects once read into with meaning, brings out the information led, for example like I mentioned when we look at the bigger picture towards the Hippo ident we saw that they didn’t swim in one position they had to strive to the top in order to achieve their goal, furthermore Hippos need air at times as they cannot last long underneath water hence why they always prefer to stay on top. This ident would link to everyday people who would have to strive in order to be where they want to be rather than being in one position. The Hippo ident is entertainment-Led because it’s almost as if they are having a race to the top. The dog ident we can see that they are running around and having a competition of who’s the fastest. The football ident we can see is clearly Entertainment-Led as most of the world relates to football and we watch it to keep us entertained. The same thing applies for the Kite ident it is entertainment-led because we see that the men are racing against each other to see who can get the kite in the right angle, however we can also say its information-led because there’s a lot of wind pushing against the kite but the people still didn’t give up until their kites where flying at the rate which they wanted it to fly at. This could relate to everyday life as the Wind could be challenges we face ona day to day life, and its sending out a message not to give up. They have created brand loyalty by having the circle in each ident and they have also stuck with their idea of unity, this allows the audience to be able to know what’s going on and what they expect to see. Morale of the story is they kept their identity which encouraged brand loyalty

The Hippo and Dog ident would most likely be used during the morning times, this is because if we look at the ident there is a slight warm feel that is given off, so to me it suggest that they would be perfectly suited for a morning slot. Unlike the kite and Football advert we can see that the atmosphere is rather dull and gloomy this could suggest an evening slot.

The design of the suite of idents is rather effective as it keeps the audience engaged in what they are looking at. The pace of these idents are rather fast, this is because people have short attention span hence why they decided to make it up beat to allow the audience to be hooked. The logo has been placed in the middle of each action to reinforce the idea of unity. This channels brand identity is friendly, because as we can see how warming and welcoming the idents are, again with reffrence to the Hippo and Dog ident we can see that they worked ina team to get to where they wanted to go, and with the Hippo ident they are all following each other which tells us there was a leader.

Jordan's feedback

2B)

Highlighted key words which is good so its easier to locate for the Marker.
Understands Typography and the limitations, as he talks about how the limitations will affect the audience.

He shows some understanding when it comes to colour, but needs to talk about which colours are available for designers to use and why to access higher grade.

In terms of aspect ratio he didn't talk about the black boarder which restricts what we can see on screen and is very uncomfortable to watch.

Understands resolution as he talks about 1080p .
Low merit

2a)

Genereal understanding of opportunities, just needs to go into more depth about the meaning.
